GOOGLE ADDDRESS VERIFICATION SETUP
Once you have signed up for our St. Augustine business address services, you’ll need to Verify your Google Business Profile (formerly Google My Business) to confirm the physical address you've provided for your business. This typically involves Google mailing a postcard with a verification code to that address. After receiving the postcard, you'll enter the code on your profile to complete the verification process.
Here's a more detailed breakdown:
1. Access Your Business Profile:
Log in to your Google Business Profile account.
Navigate to the specific location you want to verify if you manage multiple profiles.
2. Initiate the Verification Process:
Click on the "Verify now" or "Get verified" button, which will likely be displayed prominently.
If you're creating a new profile, you'll be guided through the process of adding your business details and choosing a verification method.
3. Choose the Postcard Method (if available):
Select the option to receive a verification postcard by mail.
Ensure the mailing address is accurate and up-to-date.
4. Wait for the Postcard:
Google states that the postcard usually arrives within 14 days.
Important: Do not edit your business name, address, or category while waiting for the postcard. Any changes can invalidate the verification code.
5. Enter the Verification Code:
Once you receive the postcard, locate the 5-digit verification code.
Go back to your Google Business Profile and enter the code in the designated field.
6. Final Review:
After submitting the code, Google will review the information and verify your profile.
This review process can take up to 5 business days.
Important Considerations:
Accuracy is Key: Ensure all the information on your profile, especially the address, is accurate and consistent with your website and other online listings.
Don't Request a New Code: If you don't receive the postcard within 30 days, contact Google Business Profile support instead of requesting a new one, as this can reset the process.
Consider Alternative Verification Methods: If the postcard method is not available or suitable, explore other options like video verification or phone verification.
Maintain Consistency: Keep your business name, address, and phone number consistent across all online platforms, including your website and other business listings.
